Many laboratories must deal with outpatient physicians sending tests to the lab that must be sent out to non-approved reference labs. Sometimes instead of sending a tube of blood, they send the patient to the lab for collection. These are challenging issues and in this video we explore a regulatory issue that my help laboratories justify not sending outpatient non-approved reference tests.
