My First Paper

Sometimes I look back at my career and wonder how I ever got started down the path of laboratory stewardship.  This paper might help explain it!  As a cytopathology fellow I reviewed all of the daily urine for eosinophil slides and as all of us in the lab know, these are not the best tests.  Partially out of frustration I wrote a letter to the editor of the New England Journal expressing my thoughts and they published it!  To this day it could be one of my most cited papers and might help explain how I got started in Laboratory Stewardship.
